“Consultants have a bad reputation in the pharmaceutical industry because too many are trying to apply generic problem-solving business frameworks, and old thinking to new problems. Novasecta invests heavily in being proper experts on the industry and developing solutions from a position of knowledge and authority. Working at the bleeding edge of such a fast-paced industry means that we work with our clients to solve problems, rather than pretending that we have the answers in a secret black box.”
Brian works with pharmaceutical and biotech companies across the value chain from early discovery strategies, through clinical development to commercialisation and partnering.
Recent project examples include leading a productivity improvement programme and transformation of a pharmaceutical company’s R&D function; helping a client to create a partnering strategy for a novel immunotherapy discovery platform; supporting a biotech company with European go-to-market strategy for a marketed asset; developing a global launch readiness programme for a new commercial franchise.
Before joining Novasecta, Brian held a number of increasingly senior finance and commercial roles with GlaxoSmithKline. He started his career with the Monitor Group (now Monitor Deloitte) as a strategy consultant within the Pharmaceutical practice.
